Special Advisor to the Executive Secretary of the African Capacity Building Foundation, Abdoulaye Diop is head of CAVIE after being Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mali from 2014 to 2017, Africa Director of the World Food Program from 2009 to 2014 and Ambassador from Mali to the United States of America from 2003 to 2009.<\/p>\n

The number one honorary office of the African Center for Business Intelligence and Intelligence (CAVIE) recently served as Mali’s foreign minister as the country was recovering from a political and security crisis. As head of Malian diplomacy, he was chief negotiator during the drafting of the 2015 Algiers peace agreement with rebel groups. Even today its contribution is considered essential for peace and stability in Mali and in the Sahel region.<\/p>\n

Chairman of the G5 Sahel Council of Ministers, the new CAVIE figure has played a key role in mobilizing international support for the operationalization of the G5 Sahel joint force to combat terrorism and establish a development agenda for the Sahel.<\/p>\n

Director of the Africa Office of the World Food Program (WFP) in Addis Ababa, he has remarkably strengthened the partnership with the African Union on food security and nutrition. As WFP country director in Malawi, Abdoulaye Diop repositioned the organization as a government partner in food security and social safety nets.<\/p>\n

Before joining the United Nations, President Diop was Mali’s ambassador to the United States and senior diplomatic advisor to two heads of state in Mali. He is credited with having signed and ratified, on behalf of the Government of Mali, the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.<\/p>\n

Holder of a master’s degree in international relations from the International School of Public Administration in Paris, Abdoulaye Diop received an honorary doctorate in Public Service from Chatham University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. He is fluently bilingual in English and French.<\/p>\n

In addition to the CAVIE’s recognition in the African Union and other continental cooperation institutions, President Diop prizes the evangelization of African governments on the urgency of an African strategic intelligence. The Center could not dream of a better ambassador.<\/p>\n

Strengthened by this, the General States of African Economic Intelligence (EGEIA), open to the public, will be held on 29 and 30 April 2019 in Dakar, Senegal.<\/p>\n
