Also, the international financial institution (MIGA) provided insurance against political risks, and Power Africa also supported the development of the project.<\/p>\n<p>It is the country&#8217;s first public utility wind farm and will begin construction soon &#8211; providing up to 158.7 MW of energy to the growing local grid.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Once the project is fully operational, in less than two years, it will provide more than 450,000 MWh of energy per year to more than two million people,&#8221; the company says.<\/p>\n<p>The project is expected to save more than 300,000 tonnes of CO2 in the atmosphere per year.<\/p>\n<div class=\"pdfprnt-buttons pdfprnt-buttons-post pdfprnt-top-bottom-left\"><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Senegal, the financial closure of the Taiba N&#8217;Diaye wind project (70 km north of Dakar) was finalized on Monday, July 30, according to the developer of renewable energy projects on an industrial scale, Lekela.
