This is the mission given by the chairman of the CPG, Alain Bâ Oumar, who received in audience in Libreville, the Turkish ambassador to Gabon, SE. Suphan Erkula.

The Turkish employers and the CPG had signed, a few years ago, an agreement whose objective is to put in touch the businessmen of the two employer organizations to promote the exchanges.

Favorable to identify Gabonese businessmen able to create partnerships with Turkish companies, Mr. Bâ Oumar, head of the Gabonese employers since February 24, 2017, considers that it is necessary to create new openings at the Forum d ‘Istanbul, because, he believes,’ investors choose healthy economic environments. Before investing, the eyes are on the quality of our judicial system. And the CPG measures this quality on the basis of three criteria: serenity, quality of decisions and their applicability “.

Created on September 4, 1959, under the name of Interprofessional Union of Gabon (UNIGABON) the Gabonese employers knew several evolutions with the constant concern to adapt to its environment. In 1978, UNIGABON became the Gabonese Employers’ Confederation (CPG), an appellation reflecting better the patronage character of the organization on the one hand, and its multi-union membership on the other.

Beyond its quasi-monopoly position, the CPG owes its status both to a long history and to its growing involvement with decision-makers and social partners and to a credibility recognized by all national and international bodies in contact with businesses.

At the national level, the Gabonese Employers’ Confederation’s role is to encourage public authorities to build an economic and social environment conducive to the emergence and development of Gabonese enterprises. The CPG now has a little over 250 affiliated companies, spread across 22 industries, including insurance, and 16 unions, it is recalled.

By Antoine Lawson

As a prelude to the holding of the Turkey-Africa Forum in Istanbul in Turkey in October, the Gabonese Employers’ Confederation (CPG) plans to boost trade between companies.
