{"id":461067,"date":"2018-07-13T12:03:39","date_gmt":"2018-07-13T11:03:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.financialafrik.com\/?p=461067"},"modified":"2018-07-13T12:03:39","modified_gmt":"2018-07-13T11:03:39","slug":"senegal-e-223-million-for-a-program-to-support-municipalities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.financialafrik.com\/en\/2018\/07\/13\/senegal-e-223-million-for-a-program-to-support-municipalities\/","title":{"rendered":"Senegal: \u20ac 223 million for a program to support municipalities"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"pdfprnt-buttons pdfprnt-buttons-post pdfprnt-top-bottom-left\"><\/div><p>The French Development Agency, the World Bank and the State of Senegal have signed a financing agreement worth \u20ac 223 million for the Senegal Municipalities and Agglomerations Support Program (PACASEN).<br \/>\nThe signing of the agreement took place on the sidelines of the national conference on the development and attractiveness of the territory which opened Monday, July 9 at the Abdou Diouf International Center of Diamniadio (forty kilometers of Dakar).<br \/>\nThis is 80 million euros granted by AFD in the form of loan, 93 million euros by the World Bank and 50 million euros by the State of Senegal.<br \/>\nThis envelope should be used to strengthen the financial viability of local authorities and improve their performance in terms of management and project management.<br \/>\nPACASEN is a five-year program (2018-2023) of the Senegalese government aimed at improving the economic attractiveness of the communes and agglomerations of the country through an investment program of 130 billion CFA francs.<br \/>\nIt will be implemented by the Municipal Development Agency (ADM), under the leadership of the Ministry of Territorial Governance, Development and Spatial Planning.<br \/>\nThe project targets a total of 123 towns and municipalities that will benefit from additional resources and ultimately covers nearly 600 local authorities.<br \/>\nThe objective of the program is to directly increase the resources of local communities and to increase qualified and efficient human resources.<br \/>\nAs a reminder, PACASEN is one of the initiatives aimed at improving the viability and attractiveness of the territories, in accordance with the strategic orientations of the Senegal Emergent Plan (PSE).<\/p>\n<div class=\"pdfprnt-buttons pdfprnt-buttons-post pdfprnt-top-bottom-left\"><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The French Development Agency, the World Bank and the State of Senegal have signed a financing agreement worth \u20ac 223 million for the Senegal Municipalities and Agglomerations Support Program (PACASEN).
