The Chadian government has decided to set up a toll free number to fight corruption and embezzlement.<\/p>\n

According to Dr. Abdoulaye Saber Fadoul, Chadian Ministry of Finance and Budget, “the launch of the 700 toll free number allows every economic operator or any other individual to alert the Inspectorate General of Finance to denounce any unscrupulous agent who would seek to bribe in the course of issuing an administrative paper or paying a fee “.<\/p>\n

The initiative “is part of the consolidation of public finances to fight against the diversion of funds generated by the various financial authorities,” said the minister.<\/p>\n

And, to show how seriously the issue is taken at the highest summit of the state, 500 military presidential guard are now formed in “strength of support to the financial rules.” Their role is to challenge any agent suspected of being corrupt or caught in the act of corruption in any of the country’s customs authorities. As a reminder, country of 14 million inhabitants, Chad is ranked 159e on 179 by the NGO Transparency International to the index of perception of corruption, and this, for the year 2016.<\/p>\n
