It enhances the event\u2019s profile and assures stakeholders that the energy sector is a national priority.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3208\" data-end=\"3367\">Over the past two years, President Faye has taken bold steps to modernize Senegal\u2019s energy sector. Under his leadership, major milestones have been achieved:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"3369\" data-end=\"3720\">\n<li data-start=\"3369\" data-end=\"3524\">\n<p data-start=\"3371\" data-end=\"3524\">Senegal\u2019s entry into the global LNG market with the <strong data-start=\"3423\" data-end=\"3455\">Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA)<\/strong> offshore project and the country\u2019s first LNG export in April 2025.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3525\" data-end=\"3720\">\n<p data-start=\"3527\" data-end=\"3720\">The successful production start at the <strong data-start=\"3566\" data-end=\"3597\">Sangomar offshore oil field<\/strong>, with over 9.1 million barrels exported in the second quarter of 2025 and a target of 30.5 million barrels for the year.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"3722\" data-end=\"3852\">These achievements not only strengthen Senegal\u2019s energy security but also generate revenues, jobs, and industrial opportunities.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3854\" data-end=\"4241\">Beyond the energy sector, President Faye launched a <strong data-start=\"3906\" data-end=\"3946\">comprehensive economic recovery plan<\/strong> in August 2025 aimed at reducing the budget deficit to 3%, stabilizing national debt, and mobilizing domestic resources.
