The Ministry of Minerals of the United Republic of Tanzania, in collaboration with dmg events and Ocean Business Partners Tanzania, are organizing the next edition of the Tanzania Mining & Investment Forum (TMIF)<\/strong> to be held in Dar Es Salaam on October 25 and 26, 2023<\/strong> at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Center<\/strong>. The Forum is placed under the patronage of Anthony P Mavunde (MP), Ministry of Minerals of the United Republic of Tanzania, with government representation at the highest level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The theme of the Tanzania Mining & Investment Forum 2023<\/strong>, “Unlocking Tanzania’s future mining potential<\/strong>” will once again enable the Tanzanian, African and global mining community to meet ministers, CEOs, policy makers and industry leaders in Dar Es Salaam to discuss cooperative strategies for unlocking and advancing development opportunities in this vital sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the Tanzania Mining & Investment Forum 2023<\/strong>
As the global energy transition gathers pace, demand for essential minerals and metals will also increase significantly. The International Energy Association (IEA) estimates that meeting the clean energy targets set by the Paris Agreement will quadruple demand for clean energy minerals by 2040. However, current supply projections, including mines currently under construction, fall far short of demand. Africa holds at least a fifth of the world’s reserves of a range of essential minerals and transition metals, and over the past decade East Africa has seen a rapid expansion of the mining sector. In Tanzania, the mining sector’s contribution to gross domestic product (GDP) has risen every year to become the economy’s leading source of foreign currency. The opportunity for Tanzania to exploit and accelerate its position as East Africa’s mining hub for the world by supplying vital products to global markets from its mining and exploration activities, in support of the green transition, is timely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
